 NICCA Services

As the Government of India moves toward the implementation of E-Governance at various levels of Government functioning, NIC plays a pivotal role by providing the necessary PKI platform. As the nodal IT organization in the country, National Informatics Centre has established the Certifying Authority (NICCA) at NICHQ in May, 2003, which consists of a state-of-the-art secure infrastructure, complete with biometric sensors and surveillance system of International standards. A Certifying Authority (CA) is a trusted third party or an entity that has been granted license by the Controller of Certifying Authorities (CCA), the Apex Regulatory body for Certifying Authorities in the country, to validate identities and issue Digital Signature Certificates. NIC has deployed, highly skilled and trained manpower and provided excellent logistics support for the operation of the same.
